<p>I have worked with a stroke survivor for several years using not only the skills I learnt through ARNI, but also using much of the equipment  I use with my other personal training clients such as boxing, kettebells and suspension training using the <a href="http://www.ztrainer.co.uk">Ztrainer.</a></p>
<p>This is great timing as on <strong>Saturday 30th October</strong> Bath Bootcamp is holding another <strong>CHARITY PUMPKIN WORKOUT </strong>to raise money for ARNI. 10am in Alexandra Park, Bath – Everyone is welcome as long as they bring a pumpkin and £10 donation to help stroke survivors. Last year was great fun and <em>spaces are limited</em> so call Zita on 07970 988128 to book your spot.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I recently did an experiment with a few clients by asking them to try using Magnesium oil on their aching joints. I even gave one super skeptical man some to try and since then he hasn’t complained about sore knees. Then I asked his wife to try it and she was pleasantly surprised that her lower body didn’t ache after a tough lunge/deadlift session. To make it even more scientific I asked her to only spray one leg after another session and although she was understandably hesitant, as she didn’t want 1sore leg, she agrees and texted me the next day saying how she definitely noticed the difference in each leg and won’t ever not use it again. She also noticed how her erratic sleeping (mainly caused through menopause) had improved.</p>
<p>So what is Magnesium all about?</p>
<p>Half of the body’s Magnesium is found in bone and it works with phosphorous, calcium and  vitamin D to build and maintain strong, healthy bones. It is important for healthy nerve function, blood pressure, heart and eyes. It is involved in muscle relaxation, and energy creation, storage and release. It helps balance mood and promotes restful sleep. Alcohol, stress, the Pill and diuretics deplete levels so that puts a large proportion of the population as almost certainly being deficient in magnesium.</p>
<p>Natural food sources include green leafy vegetables especially spinach, nuts and seeds such as pumpkin, sesame, brazils and almonds, legumes, avocado and wholegrain rice.</p>
<p>Even if your diet is plentiful in these you may benefit from using magnesium oil as it is kinder on the stomach and much of the oral magnesium supplements cannot be absorbed. Applying the Magnesium to the body’s largest organ, the skin, will allow rapid absorption and bypass any digestive upsets high doses can cause.  A spray every morning and evening should be enough to top up levels in most people, and it can be applied directly to tight muscles or sore joints. It can feel a little itchy to start with, which I found annoying, but once your levels are increased you should notice this less. Go buy some from a good pharmacy or buy online and give it a try.</p>

It’s so important for us to get vitamin D to boost our immunity as well as helping our bone health that we should all get outdoors and into direct sunlight for at least 15 minutes a day.</p>
<p>A recent study also reported how as little as only 5 minutes in a green space can boost mood and psychological health so there is another good reason to get out in the fresh air and train.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A few weeks ago I went to the fantastic <a href="http://www.boxercise.co.uk/">Boxercise</a> Masterclass held at Brunel University. Nearly 300 energetic instructors (including me) spent 2 hours punching,  sweating, kicking and having a great time ( as well as learning some new tricks to train clients). Some of them still had some  energy to try out the Ztrainer and loved it (we had a stand there too). Radio 1 had their very own DJ Dev taking part in the  afternoon – here is a <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p007sshn">video clip </a>and you should be able to spot our Ztrainer stand  about 2mins 26secs through the clip but I managed to escape the camera so you won&#8217;t see me <img src='http://s0.wp.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
